The Outreach Program brings groups of disadvantaged people to the Playhouse to attend performances free of charge, enabling us to broaden our definition of community and to give back in a society increasingly focused on taking.

One of the focuses of the program is to expose people in drug and alcohol dependency program to live theater. In addition, whenever the subject matter is appropriate, strong focus is placed on family support organizations and programs that target troubled youth. Other organizations include physical injury rehabilitation, special education schools, senior citizen homes, and AIDS foundations. Groups come from towns in Morris, Somerset, Bergen, and Union counties, as well as Newark, Paterson, Secaucus, New Brunswick, and Jersey City. For many, this is their first live theatrical experience.
