Fall 2024 After School Theater Classes

Chatham Community Players offers after-school theater classes for students ages 7 to 18.  No previous experience is needed.  Small class sizes allow students to progress at their own rate and benefit from individualized attention and instruction.

REGISTRATION

The 2024 Fall Session of Classes runs every THURSDAY for 8 weeks from October 3 to November 21.

Tuition is $125 per 8-week class.

  • 3:45 to 4:35 pm -- CREATIVE DRAMA (ages 7-11)
Students learn while having fun by participating in theater activities, role-playing games, and creative storytelling that ignite imaginations, inspire self-confidence, build leadership skills and develop verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • 4:45 to 5:35 pm -- IMPROVISATION (ages 12-16)
Students gain social awareness and develop creativity as they master the basic concepts of improvisation and scene building. Working in improvisation also helps students develop the  ability to focus and engage in active listening.
  • 5:45 to 6:35 pm -- ACTING THROUGH SONG (ages 13-18)
Posie, musicality, and presentation skills increase as students explore techniques for analyzing lyrics and meaning in the context of musicals. Students will be able to act through songs and understand the meaning behind how a song takes you on a journey of self discovery within a  character.

All classes take place at Chatham Playhouse, immersing students in the day-to-day life of a working theater and allowing them to observe how productions are created, in addition to working on their own performance skills in class.
